This is how it went into the kiln:
This is how it came out of the kiln:
A beginner’s guide to constructing the universe-The mathematical archetypes of nature, art and science, states: “In ancient Greece the advanced students ... who were engaged in deep studies of natural science and self-understanding where called mathematekoi, “those who studied all”. The word mathema signified “learning in general, to be aware, to awaken”. If there is such a thing as mathematekoi ( a curious one) using clay as a medium...I am one. Stepping up - Ceramics Triennale Canberra
I have returned from Canberra with the head full of pots, thoughts, images, inspirations, questions, and opinions. It was a stimulating 3 days of immersion into everything clay and connecting with makers, thinkers, collectors, sellers and artists (often embodied in the same person). Now I have to stay still for a few days and process the myriad of experiences.
I'm thinking that with so many of us commenting, recording and echoing the events using the multitude of web platforms it would be nice and practical if "someone" posts a list of links. Perhaps a small challenge to anyone ready to take it up? Please let me know if it is happening.
In the mean time, here is a bit of eye-candy from the Delegates Exhibition:

and The Printed Surface:
I have captured only a small part of each exhibition, you really had to be there to experience it in full.
